
A Lisfranc injury involves damage to the joint complex in the midfoot, specifically where the metatarsals meets the tarsal bones. The injury can include ligament sprains, fractures, or dislocations. Lisfranc ligaments help stabilize the joint complex, therefore injuries to these ligaments can cause the midfoot to become unstable.
